Shout out Hunter Stull for her performance of "O Canada"
A performance by Hunter Stull uses the word “on”, while the official lyric is “and”. This twists the knickers of councillor Susan Stevenson. “Our home on native land” is subtly delegitimizing the colonizer’s claim to the land upon which they have built their home. In other news, Hunter Stull has released an album of bedroom recordings called “The Glory of Spring”. She is also working as the lead singer of Whine Problem (the queer punk band from London, Anishinaabewaki), and with Lee Goldaline-Place and Bret Wade to create the Forest City Satyr (a digital and physical zine series that celebrates local music). She is currently studying at the University of Western Ontario to complate a Bachelor of Music with Honours in Voice Performance.
