Rock in Opposition was an international movement of ‘uncommercial’ left-wing Progressive Rock bands, active in the late 1970s. It was conceived by the administrator Nick Hobbs in early 1978, as his band recorded at Sunrise Studios in Kirchberg, Switzerland (in January) and toured the UK (in February). He envisioned it as a ‘network of resistance to the entertainment industry.’
